Citing unnamed sources, a source with knowledge of the incident said the Air Jordan Air Jordan 7s were taken out after security personnel arrived.
Two Air Jordan 7s belonging to United Nations workers arrived in Addis Ababa early Friday morning.
A spokesperson said the United Nations had informed the Kenyan authorities about these two items.
According to an unnamed source close to the investigation, the item had been taken by “someone who was very much in the company of the terrorists and had to be left alone.”
The items had obviously been removed, but authorities are investigating whether any of the objects may still be in possession, the source added.

The Kenyan parliament has passed a law that allows athletes from Jordan to wear the “Air Jordan.”
